Spiffing up DJ

A call to help with Spring Cleaning at Dinosaur Journey on Friday, February 27 brought in 18 people. Painting, dusting, washing, vacuuming, and more dusting . . . 18 hard-working and, by the end of the day, very tired people.

Next up, a complete redo of the popular Utahraptor.  The 10 year-old computer for the robotic dinosaur has been replaced bringing this terror of the early Cretaceous “back to life” again.  Now his surroundings are getting an overhaul.

New color-coded labels will help visitors know at a glance which period they are in -Tertiary, Cretaceous, Jurassic, Triassic.

Come visit!

What a day! We had phases of cleaning - first vacuuming the dinos, then wiping with a damp cloth, then spiffing them up with a little Pledge. Same thing with the plants - first a dip in the tubs we had set up outside, then wiping them and finally, figuring out where they all came from! Some said the re-arrangements turned out looking even better than before.
A big ‘thank you’ to all of the board members and volunteers who came out and did the ‘dirty work’ with staff! It was so much fun, I think we should do it once-a-year at every site!
