- ReBecca Hunt-Foster gluing feathers on Fruitadens model, one by one…
- Dr. John Foster using good ol’ elbow grease applying lettering.
- Fruitadens probably weighed less than 2 pounds.
- Fruitadens would have been about the size of a modern day chicken.
- Fruitadens is about 2′ long.
- Exhibit opening, February 10, 2010 – George Callison (purple shirt and tan vest) discovered Fruitadens in 1976.
A small but excited crowd was given the pleasure of being the first to see Fruitadens today at Dinosaur Journey.
In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, Fruitadens is the latest sensation in the Grand Valley. Discovered in 1976 by George Callison, Fruitadens is the smallest plant eating dinosaur in the world and is believed to have lived 150 million years ago, during the late Jurassic period.
Congratulations to those who worked hard to get this super cool exhibit in place.
Don’t miss seeing Fruitadens at Dinosaur Journey Museum, 550 Jurassic Ct., Fruita.
