‘Swastika’ stone moved to Museum of the West

“Hold your fire. They haven’t gone Nazi at the Museum of the West.

The Grand Valley’s perhaps most misinterpreted and abused monument - vandals’ bullet holes and all - found a new home Wednesday at the front entrance of the downtown Grand Junction museum.

Colorado National Monument explorer John Otto’s 7,000-pound creation, “Cross of Ages,” was moved from the north side of the nearby Whitman Educational Center by crews with Snyder Grand Valley Memorials, which also cleaned up the nearly century-old stone…”
