Salt Lake City Genealogy - May 5-10
May 5-10 - Register by April 5
Early May is a wonderful time to go ancestor hunting in Salt Lake City! The Museum’s annual trek is coming up soon, and the registration deadline is even sooner! This year we will be taking one of our brand new Museum vans on the trip! Will it be the red one or the gold one? And, it’s important to note that we will be limiting this trip to only one van. We have a great start on filling up our van, but there’s still room for a few more.
You don’t even have to know a lot about doing genealogy research to get a lot of good out of this adventure. We always take someone who knows their way around both the library and genealogy research. The first day, we attend a general introductory session at the library to help newcomers find their way around, and to find out if there have been any changes since our last trip. Then there are classes at the library, a special class offered right at our hotel one evening, and lots of wonderfully helpful staff and volunteers at the library to help you along your way.
And did I mention that our hotel is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the library? And that there’s a good and relatively affordable restaurant RIGHT IN THE HOTEL? And that sometimes we all get together and walk over to the church office cafeteria, THROUGH THE INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL GARDENS, for a delicious lunch? And that there is a free trolley RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR of the hotel that you can hop on for a short trip to a variety of shopping and dining offerings?
If you need more information (or incentives to join us) give the trip leader a call and she’ll be glad to tell you more. That would be Ronna Lee Sharpe, 970/242-0971 ext. 221. If you’re ready to sign up just after reading this, give Joan Cron a call and she will seal the deal. You can also register online here.
Come with us! You never know, you might just be related to one of your fellow travelers!
