Parade of Lights Dinosaur Float
This year ReBecca Hunt, with the help of John Foster, Don Kerven and Gaylon Reynolds, constructed and decorated the Museum’s float for Grand Junction Parade of Lights. Our float consisted of four local dinosaurs (Brachiosaurus, Mymoorapelta, Ceratosaurus and a pterosaur) celebrating Christmas by decorating their palm tree and opening presents. These dinos were constructed from plywood and then hand painted on both sides. Our float was driven by Museum director Mike Perry, with John Foster dressed as Dugg, the Museum’s dinosaur mascot. Zeb Miracle and ReBecca Hunt walked along with the float, braving the 22 degree weather with the rest of the crowd. Dugg was greeted with many cheers, high-fives, hugs and picture requests. He really got the crowd excited. Our palm tree was generously loaned by Bookcliff Gardens. Thanks to everyone who turned out and helped us celebrate the holidays Museum of Western Colorado style!
