Museum of the West to host Kick-Off for United Way of Mesa County

On Thursday, September 24, 2009, The Museum of the West will close its doors to the public from 10am to 2pm to host a special luncheon for United Way of Mesa County.

Theme suits the location…

The theme for this year’s United Way Campaign is “The Wild West” and so the Museum of Western Colorado has offered to support the campaign by hosting their 2009 Kick-Off in its downtown museum, Museum of the West. In order to provide the exhibit hall to United Way of Mesa County, they will be closed to the general public just long enough to set-up and host the event.

The museum supports the United Way campaign each year by running an employee campaign, but when the museum found out that it was being considered as a site to host the event for 2009 and that the theme was “The Wild West” they felt it was a great opportunity for collaboration. This way they can let the Grand Valley community know that they support United Way and have some fun doing it!

So, please let your friends and neighbors know that the Museum of the West will be closed for 4 hours on Thursday, September 24th, from 10am to 2pm to support United Way.

Feel free to contact Miffie Blozvich, Development Director, Museum of Western Colorado, with any questions at 970-242-0971 (ext. 214).
