Fossil Identification & Behind the Scenes Tour
Saturday, July 25 during Dinosaur Days, 11 AM to 2 PM at Dinosaur Journey Museum
The community is invited to bring their plant or animal fossil finds to be identified by the Museum of Western Colorado’s expert team of paleontologists from Dinosaur Journey during Dinosaur Days.
The Fossil Collections Room will also be open for guided tours by Museum staff during this time. Like most museums, Dinosaur Journey has far more specimens stored in its collections than on display. It holds a large number of local Late Jurassic age dinosaur bones and an abundance of plant and other animal fossils collected by Museum staff and donated by friends of the Museum.
Fossil identification and behind the scenes tour are included in the admission for the Museum during Dinosaur Days, at the prehistoric rate of $1/person!
